Year 2

Belmont and Bellarine

During Year Two students begin to personalize their Christian beliefs. They become more willing to share their thoughts and accept, appreciate and understand those of their peers. The Christian Education program allows the students to further develop an understanding of God through Old and New Testament stories and activities which focus on the life of Jesus and His teachings.

In Literacy the children are introduced, through group activities, to a variety of learning models which have combined both traditional methods, the use of ICT and computer technology. Students use their developed literacy skills to begin reading fluently and with expression. They are able to create interesting written pieces and present them for the entertainment of others.

They are both challenged and motivated to continue to develop important learning skills which will form the foundation for all future learning.

In Numeracy, Year Two students use their advanced knowledge and understanding of the Mathematical areas in an effort to work through more complex processes.

Integrated Studies gives students the opportunity to interact closely with their local community and environment.

During L.O.T.E classes the students begin learning words and phrases used every day in the Japanese language.
