Year 4

Belmont and Bellarine

In Year 4 students further explore, understand and grow within the Christian faith. Through developing their knowledge of scripture they learn that there is a personal God who loves and cares for them. It is at this time that students realize the importance of assets such as honesty, integrity, compassion, respect and tolerance in their lives, important factors as they begin the peer mentoring program with the Prep. classes.

Year Four Literacy concentrates on exposing the students to a wide variety of genres in both Reading and Writing. They continue to revise and extend their literacy skills and strategies in a more independent approach to their learning.

Students continue their studies in the four strands of Mathematics and are involved in activities that vary from mental computation to hands-on experiences. The work they complete is geared to enabling them to build on prior knowledge, thus providing a sound base for further study.

Integrated Studies at the Year Four level, allows the students to not only gain experience and knowledge in the areas of Science, Health and Humanities but also enables them to become conscientious global citizens.

Our Year 4 students display wonderful leadership qualities throughout the year during many special events and activities. They lead our Mother’s Day tabloid sports, help in organizing Junior School Show Day as well as leading prayers during Junior School assemblies.
