Year 11 student, Jane Kennedy recently received an award for her support of her community work supporting young women across the globe at the ‘Zonta Club’ in Geelong.
The award was for ‘Young Women in Public Affairs’. Established in 1990 to encourage more young women to participate in public and political life by recognising a commitment to volunteering, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and dedication to the advancement of the status of women.
Jane’s personal goal is to ‘become a doctor and work with people in developing countries has been growing for several years.’ Everything that she does is working towards achieving this goal.
She would love ‘to work as a paediatrician with organisations such as UNICEF and Doctors Without Borders to provide healthcare to our world’s most vulnerable people’.
The College community congratulates Jane on receiving this award and wishes her the best for her future goals.
