The Christian College House Athletics Carnivals were enjoyed by the Bellarine, Highton and Senior Campuses during the last two weeks of Term 1.
The Bellarine Campus held their Athletics Day which involved students from Prep to Year 9.
The Prep to Year 2 students enjoyed an afternoon filled with running, skipping, jumping and throwing as they participated in a variety of traditional and non-traditional athletic activities.
Students from Year 3 to 9 participated in the traditional track and field events, enjoying competing against their peers and the clock.
Congratulations to the students from Taylor on winning the House Trophy. Penman placed second, Flynn third and Burrows fourth.
For the first time in many years the Highton Campus combined their Year 5 to 9 students and invited the Junior School Year 4 students to join in on the day. Offering traditional track and field events and a variety of novelty events, all students had the opportunity to participate and contribute points toward their house tally.
Taylor House won on the day, Burrows 2nd, Flynn 3rd and Penman finished 4th.
Senior School experienced a significant move from 'Landy Field' to the Middle School their event, with the inclusion of more novelty events, the Year 12 Cheerleading Challenge and the inaugural running of the ‘Christian College Gift’.
Students enjoyed the upgraded facilities at the Middle School, with a number of excellent performances being recorded. For students who do not excel on the track or in the field they enjoyed the ‘ski’ and ‘sack’ race.
Congratulations to Burrows on taking out first place for the overall day and also the Year 12 Cheerleading competition.
Also to Ginger Brown on winning the inaugural ‘Christian College Gift’, running off a mark of 13 metres, Ginger proved too strong for the other 23 runners in the event.
