The first project care day at the Bellarine campus of Christian College for 2014 will be devoted to raising funds and awareness for the ‘Bushikori Christian Centre’ in Uganda, Africa.
Two Christian College students, Ella Sayle, Year 7 and Reuben Rock, Year 8 will be going on the mission trip with 10 other people from the Portarlington Church by the Bay.
Reuben was encouraged by his family last year when a visitor from Uganda who stayed with them particularly captivated him. Reuben even started picking up the language from this initial visit.
The group will be assisting in programs to help the poor in the city slum of the capital city such as a feeding program, as well as working in a school and health centre in rural Uganda.
Locals will be excited to receive sports equipment and library books. The self-funded mission trip is an amazing opportunity for these two young ambassadors from the Bellarine Peninsula.
Support from the Christian College community is warmly welcomed.
