Students were welcomed into Year 7 at Christian College with a three day Orientation. The days were full of educational and character building sessions targeting specific learning activities to benefit the students.
The three main outcomes for the Orientation were to help students:
- Feel more comfortable and orientated in their surroundings (through the Scavenger Hunt activity)
- Begin to form friendships (through a ‘Speed Friending’ activity)
- Have a solid understanding of expectations in school behavior and work activities.
The Year Seven Coordinator Kerrie Reid said “It was fantastic to see the students making the most of the activities on offer to them during the week and forging new friendships in the process. There was real sense of excitement amongst the Year 7 homerooms and lots of smiling faces; highlights for the students included the Scavenger Hunt, the combined picnic lunch and the production of a class mural.”
