This term, within the Integrated Studies subject, the Preps are learning about Plants.
They are inquiring about different types of plants, the needs of plants and how plants are important to animals and people.
Last week, 63 Preps from Junior School rugged up and headed down to the Geelong Botanical Gardens where they were involved in 2 programs for the day- ‘Garden Wonders’ and ‘Follow Your Nose’.
The children were also able to pick certain plants that had wonderful smells so they could create a ‘smelly bag’ to take home and share with their families.
This excursion was a wonderful way to recap over the things the Preps had learnt so far, and has also given them many other wonderings about plants for them to learn throughout the remainder of term.
