Five Christian College students attended the Rotary Youth Forum for Peace day 2013. Together with several other schools, our students presented an 8 minute talk that was very well received by about 200 delegates from across the Western region.
The students gave a balanced account of the role that religion has played in both war and peace. They explained that peace was an important element in religious traditions and went on to propose that the way to work towards a peaceful world should include mutual acceptance and understanding by all religions and of one another.
Our 5 students were personally selected because of their interest in global affairs and humanitarian work.
