The best surfers within the College gathered at Jan Juc beach recently to compete for the Scott Elliss Perpetual Surfing Trophy. With 35 competitors competing in the Open Boys, Girls and U16 Boys events competition was of a high standard, with manoeuvres and wave selection critical in accumulating points.
At the end of the event Darcy Day (Year 12) was crowned the Open Boys Champion with Zoe Clarke (Year 12) taking out the Girls event. Tully Wylie (Year 9) surfed consistently to record a victory in the Under 16 Boys event.
From this event a squad has been selected to compete at the Rip Curl Shield Victorian Schools Teams event to be held at Jan Juc in the upcoming weeks; Darcy Day & Zoe Clarke (Captains), Jack Tolley, Grace Day, Micky Robinson, Jarrad Forras, Nicholas Vanner, Zac Loveless, Nicholas Russell, Tully Wylie, Nathan Frank and Angus Castle.
Thank you to Mr. Jason O’Loughlin and Mr. Steven Sullivan for their work in planning and running the event.
