Christian College students have been extremely busy in Term 1 in their sporting efforts. Below is a round up of their success…
All Schools Swimming Carnival
The All Schools Swimming Carnival was held recently at Kardinia Park on a Sunday. For the students to be involved and give up their weekend is to be commended. Congratulations to all students, especially the Primary boys who won their section, Senior boys who came 2nd and Senior girls who finished 3rd.
The Christian College tennis players acquitted themselves very well in both Pool A and B against a strong St Ignatius tennis team. After some close games in both Pool's we were narrowly beaten. Congratulations to all our tennis players on the day. Christian College finished 2nd in Pool’s A and B and should be highly commended for their efforts.
The GISSA Cricket competitions provided students with the opportunity to bring their 'limited-over' skills to the fore. In the Senior competition our strong Christian College team defeated St Ignatius by 70 runs. In the Inter-competition Christian College again prevailed in a strong cricketing display in both their semi-final and Grand Final games against the opposition. Congratulations to the team who finished 1st in the competition.

The College congratulates Aaron Hanson (Year5) and Kirrily McConachy (Year 5) on progressing to the School Sport Victoria Division Tennis Championships.
Following a full day of tennis at the Deakin District Championships, Aaron won the Boys event, whilst Kirrily was Runner Up in the Girls section.
Interschool Equestrian Competition - Dressage

The event is split over 2 weekends with Dressage being held first.
Dressage results from the Geelong Grammar Dressage competition are as follows;

Other results included:
Eliza Bell - 11th overall - Intermediate Prelim
Shanae Jenkinson - 8th overall - Senior PrelimMolly Hargreaves - 12th. Overall Senior Prelim
Bronte Kerger - Medium - 4th Overall
The top 4 scores from Emily, Sophie, Bronte and Shanae gave Christian College Geelong a total of 214 points to place 3rd overall
School Surf League Competition
Torquay was once again the venue for the Interschool Surf league competition held recently.
Christian College entered a team of 34 students from Years 7 to 12 led by Team Co-Captain Tom Clarke.
On the day, teams competed in different events like board rescue, aqua Cameron, beach sprint and flags, held both in the water and on the sand and all tested the depth of all students.
The event attracted both local schools and entrants from Melbourne and due to the water safety requirements and knowledge of event rules and scoring, we could not enter our team without skilled parent volunteers. We are very appreciative of the time and commitment from the many parents who supported our students on the day, both in and out of the water.
Christian College placed 3rd in both the male and female divisions, which gave them a combined placing of 2nd overall.
