With firm friendships comes understanding; through understanding come tolerance; with tolerance and understanding we have peace.
Christian College has a long-standing relationship with SMAN2 Mataram on the island of Lombok which began over 16 years ago. During that time Christian College has sent half a dozen exchange trips to Lombok. After the Bali bombing in 2002, Christian College did not go to SMAN2 Mataram, instead choosing to take students to Malaysia. The exchange recommenced in 2009 and has occurred every 2 years since.
Christian College welcomes students from SMAN2 Mataram for a 2-week stay on alternate years. Often, the students are reunited with their host brothers/sisters on a subsequent trip, whether it be in Geelong or Mataram.
The students on this recent exchange enjoyed home stays with Christian College families and experienced school life at the Senior School Campus.
As our exchange program motto states; we need understanding and tolerance for peace to occur in the world and through this program, we are working towards this.
