Maddi Pecar and Tori Burns of Year 12 are studying Product Design and Technology and have been successful in having their work displayed in two different shop front windows in Geelong’s CBD recently.
The designs were completed as part of their Year 12 SAT folio work. During the evaluation process, the students were required to test their design to see if it had fulfilled their design brief. This meant putting it into the situation in which it had been intended, and in Maddi and Tori’s case, shop windows.
The girls are both pleased that the clients found their designs to be of such a high standard and are willing to leave their work within the windows for a period of time. This is really uplifting for the students’ self-confidence and it gives them real recognition for all of their hard work.
Maddi has her product in the shop window of Milanos in Pakington Street, Geelong West for this week.
Tori Burns product has been in the window of Geelong Sewing Centre in Moorabool Street over the weekend and will be going back later this year.
Both businesses have been very accommodating and supportive of the students over the year providing feedback on the processes.
