Mr. Feldman – Director of Mathematics volunteered recently to participate in a VO2max test for a Year 12 Physical Education learning prac.
The test required Mr. Feldman to cycle for a period of time where the resistance (watts) was increased periodically to fatigue him.
The students were able to witness this fatigue via the direct computer generated readings associated with O2 consumption and CO2 production, along with respiratory exchange ratio which ultimately determined the fatigue point.
Mr. Feldman was very gracious in putting his body through the pain so the students could develop the link between the classroom theory and the practical application associated with the VO2max test.
