2015 Year 12 Christian College Product Design and Technology student Sophia Loughrey took out the 'Deans Art Prize' for 'Original Thought' at the Opening of the Top Designs Exhibition at Melbourne Museum last week.
Her innovative design of a Back Pack that converts to a Rain Jacket captivated the judges attention at the exhibition. It was an honour for Sophia to receive the prestigious award.
Fellow students, Rochelle Fitzpatrick and Daniel Rodgers were also recognised in the 2016 Season of Excellence presenting their products and folio at the exhibition, for both Product Design and Technology - Textiles and Systems Engineering.
The Top Designs Exhibition at Melbourne Museum showcases a select few students work produced in VCE 2015 from across Victoria. It exhibits the states top students work across a range of subject including Food Technology, Media, Product Design and Technology, Systems Engineering, VCE VET Interactive digital Media and Visual Communication Design.
The outstanding pieces will be on display at the Melbourne Museum until July 10th 2016 and will be viewed by an astonishing 115,000 people and some 16,000 students during that time.
