From the Principal

PRINCIPALOver 30 years Christian College, Geelong has established a fine reputation providing excellence in education balanced with a desire to build strong Christian foundations into the lives of our students from Kindergarten through to Year 12.

This foundation is the cornerstone of our highly regarded pastoral and academic programs that equip our students for the future. Our aim to make a difference in the lives of the students to enable them to contribute positively to our world is recognised throughout our community.

The specifically designed Junior, Middle and Senior School structure provides sequential and developmental progression for our students to meet the needs of their growth throughout their journey at our College.

I am proud of the Christian College community for the way that we share in the journey of educating our students. The true sense of belonging that students, staff and parents enjoy creates a unique educational environment.

The introduction of strategic educational plans, emphasis upon quality teaching and learning programs for our students, supported by a broad range of specialist elective choices offers students a wide range of exciting and meaningful experiences as part of their education. Whether it is in classrooms, in our local community or through the vast array of field trips, camps or tours our students benefit from authentic learning to enrich their educational experience.

Our students enjoy the expertise of our outstanding teachers, excellent Teaching and Learning programs, safe and secure classroom environments and a culture that supports their individual progress.

Giving young people positive educational opportunities leads to a love of learning and provides the necessary skills to meet the challenges of a changing world. However, a sense of self worth, hope and confidence will only come through the nurture of a student’s spirit and character.

I encourage you to come and personally experience Christian College for yourself and to see the opportunities provided for our students and how this may benefit your family.

A day in the life of our busy College
30-May-13
A lovely day filled with sunshine provided the best weather for our College to shine at the Open Days held at the Belmont Junior School and the Bellarine Campus on Tuesday. The many visitors had the opportunity to see our students and staff at work. A common feature of the feedback that the Heads, Deputy Heads and I consistently received from a large number of the visitors, was how impressed they were by the maturity and calibre of the students at both campuses.

Amazing Opportunities

This week I am accompanying Mrs. Jan Strauch and her Year 10 Our World elective class on their trip to the central desert of the Northern Territory. As I enjoy this incredible experience and share this special time with them visiting outback places such as Uluru, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs and the particular highlight of spending time in the Alcoota School working with the indigenous children, I have been reflecting on the amazing opportunities that our students have at Christian College.
