Netball Club – Information


Competition


Geelong Netball Association (GNA) matches are held on a Monday evening at Kardinia Park, Geelong.

Junior Twilight


Teams of Girls & Boys aged from 10 to 17 and under as at 31/12/2013 are eligible to play in the junior grades of competition. Matches are held at 4.15pm, 5.00pm, 5.50pm and 6.40pm.

Teams are entered based on graded ability levels, with Boys being eligible to play until they turn 12. If their Birthday falls during a season, they are eligible to play out that season of competition as a 12 year old

Transport


It is the parents’ responsibility to arrange transport to and from venues.

Uniform


Girls: Wear a netball uniform consisting of the College Sports Polo top & College Navy Netball skirt.

Boys:
Wear a netball uniform consisting of the College Sports Polo top & College Navy Basketball (no pockets) shorts.

These items are available for purchase through the College Uniform Shop, for opening hours please check the Term calendar

All Girls need to remember that sports briefs in either black or navy must be worn under the netball skirt, Bike Shorts or sports shorts are not permitted as an alternative

Coaching


Teams will be coached by staff members, parents and outside coaches. The club endeavours to provide appropriate coaches for each team. Parents with expertise or experience in netball are asked to offer their services, either as a team coach or team manager. Training is held each Tuesday from 3.30pm – 4.30pm in the Middle School Sports & Aquatic Centre.

Membership


Each club member is required to pay a levy that covers costs associated with playing netball. The levy covers; team entry fees, coaching, equipment, break ups and presentations. Students pay a seasonal fee of $80.00 per season. The Autumn Season, Terms 1 & 2, is charged to Term 2 School account and Spring Season, Term 3 & 4, is charged to the Term 4 School account.

Payment of VNA is the responsibility of the individual player. Payment must be made prior to playing and can be made at the GNA offices. A VNA payment slip is attached.

The only other payment, apart from uniform, which parents need to contribute, is the weekly match fee of $3.00. This money is handed to the team manager at the courts.
