A day in the life of our busy College
A lovely day filled with sunshine provided the best weather for our College to shine at the Open Days held at the Belmont Junior School and the Bellarine Campus on Tuesday. The many visitors had the opportunity to see our students and staff at work. A common feature of the feedback that the Heads, Deputy Heads and I consistently received from a large number of the visitors, was how impressed they were by the maturity and calibre of the students at both campuses.
While chatting with some the Prefects from the Bellarine Campus after the visitors had left, I was impressed by the level of pride they felt for their College as a result of having had the opportunity to show people around. The students also shared with me that whilst leading visitors on tours of the campus, they came to realise just how many opportunities there are for students in our College and how amazed they were with their knowledge of the many programs.
On Tuesday night there was a Music Evening held in the Auditorium at Bellarine, an Open Night attended by a large number of families to see and hear about the benefits and features of our exciting Middle School program at Highton, a final Year 11 Debutante Ball practice in the gymnasium of the Sports and Aquatic Centre and a Year 12 Drama Performance at the Senior School.
Tuesday was a snap shot of the incredible depth and range of activities taking place within the College teaching and learning framework. Visitors certainly left with a sense of what Christian College offers our students.
I am grateful for the contribution that so many made on Tuesday and indeed to every day in the busy life of our wonderful College.
