Dec-13

Over the past two weeks I have had the great joy and privilege to attend and experience the range of end of year celebrations throughout our College. Commencing with the Year 12 Graduation and flowing onto each of the Campus Presentation Evenings, has provided me, and I believe everyone in attendance, the blessing of seeing what an amazing experience our students have as a result of attending Christian College.

A Most Wonderful Product

Christian College students demonstrate how they have developed in character and confidence from participating in the various aspects of our program. Whether this is through performances, making a speech, walking on stage to receive an award or from presenting a class item, it is obvious to see the progressive growth and development of our young people. Our Graduating class is in fact a fine example of what you may term the ‘Christian College product’.  The young men and women that complete their studies here, leave equipped with values, confidence, skills, knowledge and abilities to go into the world and make it a better place. I wish the class of 2013 God’s richest blessing as they move to the next exciting phase in their lives and thank them for the incredible contribution that they have made to the Christian College community.

The end of year Presentation Evenings capture the essence of this journey for our students demonstrating the wonderful learning that takes place and the vital relationships that exist between students, their peers as well as their teachers. The collaborative efforts that they enjoy together are clear for everyone to see and we must not take this for granted.

No only do we see many students rewarded and acknowledged for their achievement and efforts in the vast areas of the program, this also allows us to set standards for high expectations and opportunities for all of our students to strive for continual improvement.  I congratulate all of those students who received an award or certificate and encourage others to consider ways that they may strive or aim to gain this recognition next year.

Our Major Focus

The true focus on each of these occasions however, was the Christmas blessing and God’s gift to us, His son Jesus. Our College embraces the responsibility to provide a Christian education for the students and to be a witness for our families and the wider community. There is no better way to love and serve God than through our students learning in a Christian environment.

I am thankful to everyone who has encouraged, supported and shown care to others this year. In doing this you are demonstrating Christ like love. I pray that Jesus will be given the proper place in each of our homes as we await the celebration of His birth. This is the true meaning of Christmas, the reason for the celebration season and is the greatest gift the world has ever known.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

As we come to the end of a most busy, challenging and rewarding year I wish all College families a safe, happy and blessed Christmas.
