This is a most significant and exciting week in the life of our College as we welcome our sister school friends from Naga High School in Japan to celebrate the 20 years of friendship and exchange shared between our two schools.
I am delighted that my friend and colleague Mr Yamaguchi, Principal of Naga High School is accompanying this trip, along with the President of the Naga High School International Association to celebrate this wonderful occasion.
I first visited Naga High School in 1995 as a junior teacher, as part of a Christian College tour to Japan. I met Mr Yamaguchi at Naga High School whilst on this trip. He has since held positions at other schools in Japan and fittingly returned as Principal of Naga High School last year.
Together Mr Yamaguchi and I have seen the many incredible experiences and opportunities for the vast number of students who have participated in the program throughout the years.
As we share the next couple of weeks hosting our Japanese guests, I pray that everyone involved feels a true sense of how remarkable this long standing friendship between our schools has been.
May it continue for many years to come.
