East Timor Trivia Night

Last Friday evening at the Geelong West Town Hall, the College and House Prefects as well as Year 12 students organised the 6th annual East Timor Trivia Night. All funds raised go to the College’s East Timor project in Viqueque. It was a night of testing trivia questions and great celebration when one got a question correct.

The final amount raised was just on $8,600.

Apart from the trivia questions there were silent and public auctions. The auction items were graciously donated and I wish to acknowledge the generosity of those people and businesses who supported this event. The public auction of a signed Geelong football jumper was interesting with even non-Geelong supporters bidding.

There were several staff tables and we appreciate their support. It was also good to see many students there, trying to outsmart their teachers. The support of the student body filled many tables and they really enjoyed themselves. For many, it was their first trivia evening. It is a testament to the love our students have for our Viqueque project that many past students were in attendance.

A memorable evening was had by all.

We wish to acknowledge the tireless work of past students Hayley Dridan, Erin Dridan and Maddie Riddle, their assistance to this year’s organisers has been invaluable.
