Collaboration - Cross Year Level

Prior to travelling to Wilson’s Promontory for a three day hike, the Year 9 Outdoor Education students completed a study of Wilson’s Prom focusing on the topography, environmental issues and its history. They had the opportunity to present their work to the Year 5 students. This collaboration between year levels allowed for some enthusiastic conversations and learning.

The Year 9 students were able to articulate their passion and understanding of the topic. The Year 5 students were able to grow in their knowledge of topography and share the same BLP language with students they wouldn’t normally converse with. Managing distractions and perseverance were just two of the muscles that they found they had in common.

The Year 5 students look forward to sharing some of their work with the Year 9s in the future.
