State Surfing Championships

On Wednesday, a combined Middle and Senior School team contested the final rounds of the State Surfing Championships at Smiths Beach on Phillip Island. After winning through the early rounds in May the Christian College team was well prepared for the finals day, contested in clean three foot surf. In a very high standard all West Coast final, Christian College surfed tactically to reign in the favoured St. Joseph's team. Tully Wylie surfed beyond his years to record the highest heat score. The final results were: Christian College (1st), St. Joseph's/Sacred Heart (2nd), The Geelong College (3rd), and St. Ignatius (4th).
