Orientation Day Success

We celebrated a very successful Orientation day on Tuesday, welcoming many new students and families into our College community! There was plenty of anticipation and excitement towards the new opportunities, challenges and friendships that lie ahead for 2017. It was pleasing to see and hear of many instances where our students were welcoming and encouraging of their new (and in some cases extremely nervous) peers. It is a wonderful privilege to witness firsthand the friendship, acceptance, empathy and emotional intelligence our young people show on days such as these.

On days such as Orientation Day we are reminded of the need to have a “big picture view” about developing resilience and independence in our young people.  I trust the attached article ‘Resiliency Robbers’ is helpful in supporting and sharing suggestions as to how this might be achieved.
