Remembrance Day 2016

The 11th of November marks the 97th Remembrance Day, 98 years since the guns fell silent at the end of World War 1. The students at Christian College Bellarine displayed their respect for those who served in the First World War as well as those who have served in the various conflicts in the 100 years since.

The gravity of the occasion was recognised with a service and a minute’s silence at 11.00am and the raising of the flag from half-mast. The sale of poppies and wrist bands at school raised $300 for the RSL.  Four students from Year 6 were chosen to represent Christian College Bellarine at the commemorative service at the Cenotaph in Drysdale and laid a wreath on behalf of the school.
