Introducing the new Head of Strings to our College Community

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Olivier Bonnici to the position of Head of Strings, to commence Term 1 2017. Olivier is  currently Head of Strings at a girls school in Oxford. By way of introducing himself he has written……..

“I was born in Grenoble, in the French Alps and educated in France before completing my musical training in Oxford, England, where I met my wife, Rosalind, who had come from Geelong to study with the same violin teacher, Dame Kató Havas.  I have kept up a busy performing career and have greatly enjoyed my job in Oxford, as Head of Strings at Headington School, teaching and conducting all standards of string players.  I am thrilled to be joining the Music team at Christian College.

We have three children. Our son Benjamin will stay in Oxford with Rosalind until he finishes school in June, and Beatrice and Luke will be starting with me at Christian College and are very much looking forward to it.

I have started to count down the days until we arrive in the City by the Bay!

It is a very exciting time in all our lives.”

The Music staff are looking forward to welcoming Olivier and his family to the College, we pray for safe travels and a blessed Christmas for them as they go through the huge move from Oxford to Geelong,
