Year 12 Health & Human Development / UNICEF and Muscular Dystrophy Australia
Late in term 3 our Year 12 Health and Human development students were really moved by the plight of children in developing countries when studying Global Health. Issues such as child soldiers, young girls forced into child marriages, children orphaned to HIV or AIDs and providing children with education and access to health care really resonated with our students.
As our students do at the College, they took action and baked treats, cooked a BBQ and raised $1038.80. Jacob surprised us all by attending after having a procedure in hospital the day prior.
Jacob was one of our valued and treasured students in HHD. Our HHD students decided that they would like to donate half of the funds that they raised to Muscular Dystrophy Australia.
Our students showed their compassion – and that they are real global citizens who take action in caring for others. They make us very proud!
