Year 7 Drama Comedy Showcase

Year 7 Drama students performed their Comedy Showcase on Wednesday night. The students and I have had a lot of fun rehearsing together and as you can imagine we have been laughing a lot. As a part of the Year 7 Drama program, students study a range of comedy styles such as; slapstick, farce, satire, malapropism and more. They also investigate some of the traditional forms of comedy called Commedia dell’Arte and Lazzi. Commedia dell’Arte is stereotypical characters. Characters use masks, incorporating parody and satire, exaggerated movement, clowning and improvisation.
