Cheerleading Federation National Championships

In November, three Bellarine Year 8 students competed in the All Star Cheerleading Federation National Championships held in the Gold Coast. 7500+ competitors battled it out in three halls to see who would be crowned National Champions in a variety of divisions. Lily Griffin, Abby Zeinstra and Hannah Langley represented Adrenaline in the junior level 2 which is part of Geelong Elite.

The girls train 2-3 times a week for 1.5 – 3hrs. In this time, they work on routines, skills, teamwork, stunts and building trust for the many risky sequences they perform. Overall, their team came in 5th in The Gold Coast but it was in the Pom competition that Abby and Hannah’s team, Elevation, came 1st in the National Champions. Both Abby and Hannah competed in the Hip Hop Velocity team where they placed 2nd.

Lily “really loves cheerleading because it combines dance with gymnastics”.
Abby “I enjoy performing in front of huge audiences and the adrenaline rush”.
Hannah “loves the physical challenge and competing”.

Congratulations girls on an amazing competition.
