Devices in Year 4

The use of 1:1 devices for our Year 4 students at Junior School has been an exciting process for both students and staff again this year. Students have been guided through the many aspects of using the device; from care and maintenance, to being introduced to a range of resources such as Outlook, Padlet and OneNote. These digital resources have assisted in student organization and provided avenues to share thinking and learning collaboratively.

The Year 4’s recently held a Celebration of Learning Conference with their parents and used their device as a means to digitally catalogue work samples providing examples of their learning throughout the semester.

Building Learning Power

Junior school has fully embraced the BLP ethos by using BLP superheroes and capes to get the message to students. Ruby Resilience, Robbie Resourcefulness, Rachel Reflectiveness and Roy Reciprocity sang their BLP song at assembly and then presented each class with a cape which teachers will allocate to a student using the superheroes’ muscles. So far each class has a blue (Ruby Resilience) and a green (Robbie Resourcefulness) cape. The other character’s capes will be introduced later in the year.
