Faith in Action

During the holidays I went out with the Bellarine Peninsula Salvation Army Outreach Van at night to visit homeless people around the Bellarine with Captain Peter Hobbs.

It has made a huge impact on me. Christian College has taught me about faith in action so this is what I am thinking.  Can people donate essential items to Christian College that can then be given directly to homeless people in Geelong, Torquay and the Bellarine through the outreach vans? Homelessness is all around the Geelong region, but it is a hidden problem. The Salvation Army is able to connect with many of these people to help them. The people we met were sleeping in cars and in a range of other rough places. These people need; beanies, scarves, gloves, all toiletries (soap, shampoo, toilet paper) and blankets.  If you can donate any of these items during 3rd Term to homeroom teachers/student office they can be given to the Salvation Army and then given directly to people in need.

Thank you in anticipation.
