Yr. 1 100th Day of School Activity Day

Year 1 students have been using the number of days they have been in Year 1 to revisit bundling from the ones to the tens place value. Recently the children discovered what happens when you have ten bundles of ten as they celebrated the 100th day of school for 2016. They brought an older version of themselves to school and participated in a variety of literacy and numeracy activities all themed around 100. The children wrote about their 100 year old selves, made creative constructions with 100 cups and Legos, made glasses for their old eyes and much more. The day was filled with fun and laughter and was a wonderful introduction to our Maths unit ‘Place Value to 100’.
