Junior School – Belmont offers a progressive and holistic educational experience for children journeying from three-year-old Kindergarten to Year 4 within a caring family atmosphere.
Our focus is on actively engaging all of our children in a program that stimulates and nurtures their interests and skills across a diverse range of learning contexts. Our goal is to equip our students with self-esteem, confidence and competence as well as to foster, within each child, an understanding of the dispositions essential to their learning and a genuine appreciation and joy in the learning experience. Our children are secure, engaged and happy!
As a campus dedicated to meeting the needs of children in their early years of learning, we recognise the importance of play. Strategic use of play-based learning (including a ‘Bush Prep’ program) in the early school years provides powerful opportunities for children to learn and enhances the transition from Kindergarten into the school environment.
Across the Junior School, learning is a journey of discovery about self and the local and global communities we live in.
Student knowledge, skills and creativity are explored and developed through the core subjects of Literacy, Numeracy, Science, Humanities and Christian Education and a broad range of specialist curriculum areas (Music, Art, LOTE, Physical Education, Library, ICT). These are complemented by comprehensive co-curricular experiences such as ‘Project Care’ activities, dance, choir, instrumental music, sports, camps and excursions.
