The innovative Senior Art, Technology and Design Centre, the Villa Paloma, is a thriving part of the senior campus that creates a fully integrated, studio-based learning environment for our students.
Villa Paloma offers opportunities for students to explore their individual creativity across a wide range of future learning areas using new and emerging technologies (such as industry standard design and creative software, computer-aided design, laser cutting, computer numerical controlled milling and 3D printing). Some of the disciplines available at Villa Paloma are outlined below.
Studio Arts – Includes an extensive range of drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, glass, photography, video, digital imaging, and interactive and immersive mediums.
Product Design – Includes a variety of mixed materials from plastics, metals, wood and textiles.
Systems Engineering – Includes robotics, mechatronics, electronics and coding.
Visual Communication Design – Includes product design, communication design and environment design.
Media Studies – Includes film-making, photography and a wide variety of digital media solutions.
Food Studies – Offers a hands-on skilled-based learning approach in the preparation of food and the design process. Ethical and sustainable practices underpin food production and healthy eating and nutrition are important considerations.
