Congratulations 2011 Graduates

The onset of hot summer weather at the end of the school break seems to be a common event.   As I have been at school over the last week or two getting ready for the New Year I had been grateful for the efforts of those behind the scenes that work to ensure that our College is ready for students to arrive on day one.

We are blessed to have grounds and maintenance staff, builders, cleaners, uniform shop, bus drivers and mechanics, as well administration staff, that all dedicate themselves to making sure that everything is in place for the students and staff to commence the academic program. I thank each of these members of our College team for providing such commitment to this important task.

I must say that I am eager to see students return to our campuses on February 1st as they bring life to the buildings and grounds. I hope that all families have enjoyed a happy time together over the break. I encourage all students to arrive at school ready to work with a positive attitude and a desire to work hard. It is especially important for those students in senior years to have completed the reading and set tasks that were assigned to them during the transition programs conducted at the end of last year.  Completing this preparatory work prior to the start of Term is significant in making a positive start to the new academic year.

I commended and shared the results achieved by our VCE students in 2011 in my previous blog. These excellent results have allowed many to follow the dreams and aspirations they held for further study. The following is a summary of the Tertiary Offers made to our students so far.

It is interesting to note the increase in the number of students undertaking studies in Health Sciences. These include Nursing, Paramedics, Dentistry, Optometry, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy. Some students have planned to study Medicine interstate or as Graduates after completing these courses.

Other College graduates have successfully applied for employment or apprenticeships.

I wish each graduate every success and God’s blessing as they embark on this next stage of their lives.
