Off to a Flying Start
It has been a most hectic and highly energetic start to the new academic year. It is incredible how much can be achieved in a short period of time.
Already the College has enjoyed a range of highly successful events that have occurred as part of the first part of the year. I am most grateful to the students, staff and families that have contributed to and supported the Welcome and Information Evenings, Student Leader’s Induction Services, sporting, music and camp opportunities, classroom activities, fund raising efforts and the many other aspects of the life of our College. Each of these create the rich fabric of school culture. The positive support and encouragement that comes from each level of the community is invaluable in creating the wonderful learning environment that our students enjoy.

I encourage all families to regularly visit the Christian College website and our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ChristianCollege to see the many highlights and reasons to celebrate the efforts and achievement of our students.
Shortly you will receive a copy of the College wide newsletter, ‘In Focus’ that will provide you with a colourful collection of highlights including some details regarding our 35th Anniversary that we are celebrating this year.

20th Anniversary of Friendship with SMA 2 Negeri Mataram
At the end of this term two groups of students from Years 10 to 12 from the Senior School will head off to Indonesia as part of their study tour. This tour marks the 20th Anniversary of our close friendship with our sister school SMUN2 Mataram, on the Island of Lombok. During the visit an official party representing our College will visit Lombok for the official celebrations. This occasion will celebrate the contribution and benefit that this most valuable program has been to many students and families from both nations and schools throughout the 20 years of relationship.
Beauty and the Beast
Many hours of rehearsal, costume and set preparation, planning and anticipation will soon provide us with a wonderful showcase at the performances of this year’s College Musical, ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ I am extremely grateful to the members of the cast, orchestra, production team and families involved in this massive undertaking and I look forward to enjoying the performances that are scheduled early next term. I am told tickets have sold very quickly and I encourage all families to secure tickets now to avoid missing out.
