Welcome to the new academic year
Welcome to the new academic year. 2014 is shaping up to be a significant one for our College as we introduce a range of initiatives as part of our focus on continuous improvement.
This year we have commenced with the highest enrolments in our history. The interest in our wonderful community has been a true testimony to the combined effort of our staff, students and families to create the best possible learning environment and opportunities for our students.
I have already been able to visit a number of classrooms, as well as the ‘Welcome Services’ conducted at each campus. It has been a pleasure to meet some of the new students and their families. I wish to welcome all of the families who have joined our College community for the first time. I look forward to meeting as many of you as I can at the Welcome evenings planned in the coming weeks.
I am very excited and pleased that during the first week of term we have seen the successful distribution and introduction of the tablet devices for students in Year 5 and 7, an upgrade to the College network to enable faster and improved internet access and the introduction of an improved Learning Management System (LMS) that allows greater access to curriculum, resources and student information for staff, as well as students and parents.
As this LMS rolls out, I am sure that everyone will appreciate the wonderful benefits this change brings to our delivery and management of the College teaching and learning programs and communication through the portal.
We will be sharing these with you as they come online throughout the year.
Class of 2013
Last week the graduates from 2013 that achieved an ATAR of 90 and above were acknowledged and congratulated at the Senior School Welcome Service, including the Dux Tiana McLeod. I offer my congratulations to each of the graduates of 2013.

I wish them all God's blessing for the future.
In recent years our College has increased our use of electronic and digital communication, including a professionally produced DVD included with the College Yearbook, ‘The Motivator’.
I encourage all families to visit the College website on a regular basis and to ‘like’ us on Facebook if you use social media, to keep up to date with the busy College program.
An exciting year ahead
Our Christian faith assures us of the good things God has planned for Christian College this year. In the Bible, Jeremiah 29 verse 11 says,
"For I know the plans I have for you", declares The Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".
2014 is promising to be a most exciting year. I look forward to sharing in the blessings that God has in store for us.
