The Victorian Certificate of Applied Learning (VCAL) and Vocational Education Training (VET) are offered at Christian College Senior School for Year 11 and 12 students. These courses provide our students with diverse curriculum alternatives and engage young people in more hands-on and applied learning principles.
Our students are able to undertake a variety of VET courses offered throughout the Geelong region, and VET Music is offered on campus.
VET can be studied as part of the student’s VCE and it is a mandatory component of VCAL. Popular VET courses studied by our students include Certificate II in Plumbing, Certificate II in Engineering – Mechanical, Certificate II in Building & Construction – Carpentry, Certificate III in Early Childhood Education, Certificate II in Animal Studies, Certificate II in Electrotechnology and Certificate III in Allied Health, among others.
In VCAL both intermediate and Senior students are involved in a variety of engaging community projects including the renovation of a decommissioned 1991 school bus into a Community Bus. This integrated project and others like it continue to provide our students with an array of applied learning experiences.
