Days for Girls

Last Tuesday, Maya Fuller and Sienna Doig in Year 6 self initiated and organised a sausage sizzle fundraiser for the 'Days for Girls' program. After the wonderful support from students and staff, the girls managed to raise an amazing $400! Encouragingly though, this fundraiser will have significant impact on the lives of the girls involved in the program, well beyond the monetary figure.

Days for Girls' Mission

The ‘Days for Girls’ program is driven to see women as equal participants in their communities, be agents of social change and realise their potential and self-value. This can be achieved they believe, through health education and the provision of sustainable hygiene products to ensure young women are able to stay in school.

The money the students have raised means that 44 young girls in Nepal, Kenya and Uganda will be able to go to school for 3 years. With this ongoing education, girls wont be falling behind by dropping out of school and will have significantly increased opportunities for further education and future employment prospects.
