Senior Boys Netball State Champions

The College congratulates the Senior Boys Netball Team on winning the 2016 State Schools Netball Championships.

Since 2010 the Senior Boys team have played off in the Championship match on 6 out of the 7 occasions, recording four State Titles! At the helm during this period has been experienced Netball Coach and Director of English Mr. Damian Stephenson. Damian’s knowledge, passion and experience are critical with each half consisting of 7 minutes’ duration; a slow start or lapse of concentration can mean defeat. During the training period leading in to the tournament, the team develops beyond a basic understanding of netball towards plays and systems, ensuring they are ready to play in this ‘pressure cooker’ situation. This preparation was vital; with the team being down at half time in both the Semi and Grand Final, they kept their composure and trusted in the work they had done, allowing them to go on and win both matches to secure the title.

In 2016 the team of Flynn Marshall, Harrison Hogan, Harry Kaye, Michael Little, Christian Davis, Tom Cushion, Jordan Rossi, Darcy Pearson and Will Haintz are to be acknowledged for their dominance, remaining undefeated during the Preliminary and Final round robin days. Year 12 students Tom Cushion (attack) and Harrison Hogan (defence) were significant performers during all matches, as was the second goaler Flynn Marshall (Year 11).
