Barwon Interschool Equestrian Series

Equestrian season ends on a high.

The Barwon Interschool Equestrian Series which includes Equestrian events hosted by Geelong Grammar, The Geelong College, Ballarat Grammar School and Kardinia International College has concluded for 2016. The Victorian Equestrian Interschool Series includes events hosted by schools from a wider area of Victoria with riders and parents committing a great deal of travel and time to represent the College. We acknowledge the performances by the entire Christian College Geelong team for an excellent season.

Individual Champions at show jumping height levels included Riley Taylor, Individual Series Champion (Freshman), Georgia Murdoch, Individual Series Champion (Encouragers) and Jorja Krisopp Cole, Individual Series Champion (Improvers).  Individual Reserve Champions or Runners Up included Lucy Lawn Reserve Champion, Showjumping (Improvers) and Emily Fischer Reserve Champion, Dressage (Preliminary). Our CCG Showjumping team placed second overall in the series behind Toorak College.

Victorian Team qualification - We acknowledge the performances of Tilley Fair, Ava Halloran and Charlotte Sheldon who qualified to represent Victoria at the National Interschool Championships.

Congratulations to all riders in the CCG Show Jumping Team who contributed results toward the team being crowned Barwon Interschool Series Champions. CCG were the Champion Showjumping School, 3rd placed Dressage school and thus 2nd overall for the series perpetual trophy.

We thank Equestrian Team Captains Erin Young and Bronte Kerger for their guidance throughout the year. All riders were encouraged and supported by the Sports Administrator, Kay Wilson, a dedicated group of parents and friends, including Mrs Cheryl Wright who provided invaluable expertise and guidance to the Showjumping riders. We thank all who were involved and now look forward to the 2016/2017 series of competition which commences in October this year.
