Year 8 Drama Showcase
Year 8 Drama students have been working throughout the term to create a dynamic and engaging piece of theatre and this week they performed in front of friends, family and College staff. Groups were tasked with transforming a picture book of their choice through to performance with the use of non-naturalistic theatre conventions such as narration, soundscape and chorus. They worked collaboratively to refine and rehearse a performance piece that remained true to their original subject matter.
The students presented a variety of content on Wednesday evening — from children’s stories to moral-driven narratives — all developed and directed by the actors themselves. They experimented with vocal and physical expression throughout the semester and we were pleased to see their efforts culminate in a creative interpretation of text.
Congratulations to the students involved!
