Successful Year 10 2017 Transition
Last week saw our Year 9 students begin their Senior School education over two days of transition. Over these two days, students had the chance to meet their Year 10 teachers and start to get a feel for what Senior School life will be like next year. On Thursday students engaged in various core classes where they had the chance to learn a bit about the subject content; they may have even received some home study to do over the holidays in preparation for next year. On Friday, students had the chance to begin some of their elective subjects, including some VCE units that they may have selected. Miss Doherty and I have received some fantastic feedback from both teaching staff and from students in regard to this experience and our Year 10’s for next year have got off to a very strong start for next year. I would like to encourage our new Year 10’s to have an enjoyable Christmas break, but to also take the time to prepare for next year by completing any reading or study that might help to begin the year on the front foot. Being well prepared with all learning materials, organised with your study plan and other after school commitments, and pre-reading work that will be undertaken in the first few weeks will set students up for a very successful year.
