We are delighted to welcome our children and their families back for our 2017 school year. We hope that you were able to relax and enjoy the break and are feeling ready for the new term and all the exciting things in store. The first day of school each year is a very significant one and it has been good to see the children settle quickly into their new classrooms and routines. We are most grateful to all of our teachers who worked hard during the holidays to prepare their classrooms so that your children felt an immediate sense of welcome and belonging. The first day of school is such an important experience. We look forward to meeting you at our Welcome Picnic on Tuesday, February 21 at 6:00pm. (An invitation will be included in the next newsletter). We have tried to make this newsletter as succinct as possible, but there are many things to let you know about as we commence the year. Please make the time to read our weekly newsletters - as these provide the updates of things that are happening at the Junior School Campus. It would be an unfortunate to see children arriving at school unprepared for events because their parents have not read the newsletter. I would also encourage you to keep a regular check of the parent portal and College calendar, as these are continually updated with new information. Please advise our office staff if you are unsure of how to access these facilities so that we can organize for our IT Technician, Sascha Veldhuis, to assist you.
Be safe at drop off and pick up times
We have noticed that a number of parents are parking in prohibited areas during pick up and drop-off times. These areas are designated as such because parent parking in these spaces creates significant potential danger for our small children as they make their way to and from school. For this reason, Please Note that no parent should be driving into the Staff Car Park at peak times, and parents should not be parking on the opposite side at the end of Dumfries Court. On behalf of our entire Junior School community, I thank you for abiding by these safety precautions at all times.
