A message from the Head of Senior School
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to Senior School Evening
The Welcome to Senior School Evening last Monday was a wonderful occasion. The large numbers attending showed that there is a real desire for parents and guardians to be involved in their child’s education. On the evening there was the opportunity to meet the House Group teacher as well as all the subject teachers. After two weeks of classes the teachers were in a position to give feedback and to listen how they are better able to lead your child’s learning.
The Year 10 cohort had a meeting led by the Year Level Co-ordinators, Ms Kim Doherty and Mr Paul Breguet, who went through the main points for the year.
One aspect they spoke about was the MYTERN app and there is a notice about this in this edition of The Vine. I urge parents and guardians to attend this meeting and to find out how this app may be able to assist your child. The biggest issue we deal with at Senior School is anxiety and this app assists this by sending a daily message of support and inspiration. It is free for our students and community.
I wish to acknowledge the Prefects whom gave freely of their time to serve the food and beverages. They are a terrific group of young people who love the opportunity to serve their community.
The House Swimming Carnival is to be held on 28th February and we are all looking forward to this great House event.
All students are required to attend to support their House and friends. If a student is unwell for the day then we may ask for a doctor’s certificate.
