Connecting with our Karen families
We had our first Karen Educational Conference on Thursday this week, providing a wonderful opportunity for our Christian College Karen families to connect further with our teaching staff, while also investing in the relationship-building between students, families and our school.
By devoting time and effort into minimising the language and cultural barriers for our students and families, we aim to provide the very best educational experience for these precious young learners.
Through the generous support of the Christian College Foundation, we now support 22 Karen students to access quality education here at Christian College, through our Cultural Scholarship program.
We were deeply touched and wonderfully blessed when our Karen parents sung to us in their native tongue and native costumes, as a way of showing appreciation for our support and to help share more of their beautiful culture with us.
It was a great afternoon of fellowship and appreciation.
