'Realism' in Year 9 Drama
Year 9 Drama students recently performed a selection of scripts from the 'Realism' genre.
This was an in-depth assessment that both challenged and inspired them, and all students rose to the occasion. The task required students to interact with the techniques of theatre practitioner Konstantin Stanislavski in exploring both character and emotion in depth.
They were asked to memorise lines, consider elements of stagecraft such as set, props and costume, and identify the objectives and emotional intent of their characters. It was wonderful to see these young people empathising and collaborating to create theatre in the classroom and I congratulate them on exemplary work.
