International Women’s Day
In response to International Women’s Day, 6M Homeroom explored a variety of influential women throughout Australian history.
They questioned and were challenged by historical gender inequality when discussing the rate of the many changes which have occurred regarding laws, employment and the rights and responsibilities of women since Australia’s Federation in 1901. Honest and reflective comments were shared as part of the task, which lead to several students writing letters to mothers and relatives to thank them and to recognise their contribution in the children’s lives.
