Rain did not stop the Year 1 students as they traveled to Anglesea for camp this past Tuesday and Wednesday. The excitement was high, particularly any time the words ‘flying fox’ were mentioned. Minute to Win It games, orienteering, flying fox and building a parachute for a pirate all offered the young campers the opportunity to stretch their collaboration muscles and problem solving skills. Our Year 9 Prefects, Sarah and James, were a fantastic support as they facilitated the air plane challenge, lead games, assisted students in making S’mores and much more. As dark fell on the camp a glow stick, parachute party filled the room with glee as the students used the large parachute to play sharks and minnows, popped popcorn and made a dome. The children enjoyed their time at Burnside Camp as they stepped outside their comfort zones, developed stronger friendships and grew in independence.
