Easter Reflection

EASTER IS COMING!

Easter is a wonderful time of celebrating being together with friends and family. Customs such as our 'Easter Bonnet Parade', eating chocolate Easter eggs and hot cross buns are fun ways we can share in the season of Easter. They also represent aspects of the Christian Easter message, using symbols such as the cross on which Jesus died for our sins over 2000 years ago. Eggs can be used to represent new life and signify the empty tomb in which Jesus triumphed over death. In our assemblies and devotions, staff have been retelling important aspects of the Easter Story with their students, as well as other elements like why Jesus came into our world and how He showed His Father’s love to us. On Good Friday, Jesus died a painful death on that wooden cross for our sins - both in our past and for the future. Joyfully, we celebrate His resurrection on Easter Sunday. The children are aware of how much Jesus loves them. Easter is a message of hope and forgiveness. Allow time to reflect on Jesus this Easter. I trust this poem, ‘Footprints’, gives an indication of how Jesus walks with us through all aspects of our lives. I wish you and your families and blessed and safe Easter.
