Butterfield House Family Fun Day and Official Opening
Our new Butterfield House Kindergarten and Care has hosted quite a few guests recently.
Family Fun Open Day
Last Saturday, Butterfield House welcomed over 450 guests who attended the 'Family Fun Open Day'. It was wonderful to see the guests enjoying the incredible facilities, both inside and out, as well as listen to our Junior School - Belmont Choir, and feel the wonderful ambience that Butterfield House Kindergarten and Care has to offer.
Butterfield House opened at the beginning of this year, completing our College’s vision to provide an early learning centre on the Surf Coast where children thrive in an atmosphere of wellbeing, with a genuine physical connection with nature and beautiful horizons from every viewpoint.
Official Opening and Dedication Service
On Tuesday, March 28th, Christian College was thrilled to have The Honourable Jenny Mikakos, Minister for Families and Children, to officially open our new Kindergarten and Care Centre, ‘Butterfield House’.
Butterfield House is named after Mrs Irene Butterfield, who is remembered fondly for the 20 years of incredible service she gave our College. Irene began her time with us during the foundational years of our College in the early 1980s, serving as a secretary to then Principal, Daryl Riddle OAM, for 16 years, before becoming a significant presence for a further 4 years at our College’s other Kindergarten, ‘Williams House’.
Our vision for Butterfield House could not have come to fruition without the support of the Victorian State Government, which provided our College with $650,000 worth of funding last year, and we would like to thank everyone who has played a part in this exciting new expansion for our College.
Among the dignitaries and special guests present at the Official Opening and Dedication Service, was the Mayor of the Surf Coast, Cr Brian McKiterick, and fellow Surf Coast councillors, as well as Andrew Katos MP, member for South Barwon, and Frank Costa AO.
